The Rolling Valley Dolphins Swim Team of Springfield, Virginia is part of the Rolling Valley Swim and Tennis Club (RVSTC). We have been a part of the Springfield community since 1970 and are in Division 14 of the Northern Virginia Swimming League. The team is comprised of swimmers ages 5 to 18 who compete against other area teams. Our team begins practicing after Memorial Day, with daily practices held at RVSTC. The swim season runs through the end of July, with twice-weekly meets. These meets bring families from Springfield as well as other communities throughout northern Virginia.

Team Philosophy
The Rolling Valley Dolphins is a summer recreational swim program that focuses on individual improvement and positive encouragement. Our mission is to provide training and competitive opportunities for swimmers of all abilities to reach their individual and team goals and to foster swimming as a fun, lifelong activity in a family-oriented environment. Our goal is to build outstanding, well-rounded athletes through team activities promoting personal achievement, social interaction, and team spirit.

Our Programs

We offer two distinct pathways depending on your child’s age and comfort level:

The Pups Program (Ages 3+): Designed for our youngest swimmers to build confidence and learn basic strokes in a supportive environment (primarily in our 4-foot middle pool). Led by our patient older swimmers—many of whom were Pups themselves—this program focuses on fun and preparation for the competitive team. Pups are full team members, invited to all Friday night pep rallies and the famous “Lollipop Races” at B meets!

Requirement: Swimmers must be willing to enter the water, bob, and put their faces in the water independently.

Competitive Swim Team (Ages 5–18): Broken down into age-specific groups (8&U up to 15-18), the competitive team focuses on skill development and improvement through consistent practice. It’s a fantastic way to build athletic discipline while being cheered on by the whole community.
